WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU MISS YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY PHONE INTERVIEW?

What happens if you miss your Social Security Disability Phone Interview?

I missed my Social Security Disability phone interview. How do I get another interview?

That shouldn't be a problem. Simply contact your local field office (the Social Security office nearest to you and, I am assuming, the office with which you had scheduled a telephone interview for a initial claim, i.e. disability application) and request a new phone interview appointment.

Note: you may wish to have some information prepared and at your side at the time of your phone interview. To start with, you should write down your medical history, including your diagnosed conditions, places of treatment, and dates of treatment. You should also include the names of your doctors. Why do this? The information itself will be used to obtain medical records from all your treatment sources and, as you probably know, the decision on your claim will be made on the basis of this information. Writing the information down before the interview will make the process more productive and reduce the possibility that some information will be inadvertently left out.

Secondly, you should write down your work history going for at least 15 years. Be sure to include job titles, dates of employment, and descriptions of job duties. This information will be used by a disability examiner to determine what you have done in the past, and to help determine what you can and can no longer do, which, obviously, will impact your case.
