How can I get the status of my Social Security Disability or SSI claim for anxiety?
You can get a status by calling your local Social Security office. It is probably not advisable to bother calling for a status if you filed your claim recently. You should give it thirty days or so. It takes time to get all the necessary information to make a medical determination and it is unlikely the disability examiner will have the necessary medical information soon than that.
If you need to go to a consultative medical examination to be evaluated for your anxiety disability claim it may take longer. There has to be time for you to attend the examination and for that doctor to return a report back to the disability examiner.

While it is probably not advisable to call every week, it is not a bad idea to check every thirty days or so. You will be notified of any decision via the US postal service. Make sure you contact Social Security to report any address changes.
