If I die while on Social Security Disability, will my wife receive anything?

If I die while on Social Security Disability, will my wife receive anything?

"I am on disability social security. I am 54 years old. If I die would my wife receive anything? Thank you."

If you pass away, your wife may be able to receive benefits from your record. It depends upon your wifes age at the time you pass away.

A spouse can receive widow or widowers benefits at age 60; unless they are disabled.

If your wife is disabled she may be eligible for widows benefits between the ages of 50 and 60. She would have to have gone or go through the same disability process you went through to be eligible for disability benefits.
