Accelerated Cure

The Accelerated Cure Project, according to their website, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to curing Multiple Sclerosis (MS) by determining its causes. The website, acceleratedcure.org, serves as a comprehensive resource center for those with MS, those who treat MS and those who are researching MS.

More than simply a website with MS resources, downloads, newsletters, articles, events and other information for a typical website on MS, The Accelerated Cure Project offers ‘The Cure Map’ and ‘The Repository’. The Repository is a large-scale collection of biological samples and other data from people with MS that are offered for study to the scientific community in exchange for access to the data generated. The site offers comprehensive information about this process, the statistics, the projects and the Biobank. You can find all studies on the site.

The Cure Map is a map to document and establish what is known and unknown about the disease. The Accelerate Cure Project hopes to use the repository to help create The Cure Map, thereby advancing efforts to cure the disease.

Ferguson and Ferguson

Ferguson & Ferguson is Randy Ferguson and Jackie Ferguson Graham, a litigation firm located in Huntsville, Alabama. The brother and sister team focus on a wide variety of practice areas from domestic relations, wrongful death and personal injury to bankruptcy, auto accidents and social security issues. On the homepage you can find a scroll down list of their complete practice areas, as well as a simple ‘contact form’ that can be filled out and sent directly to their office with your personal messages about your particular case.

The website also offers a comprehensive glossary of terms for those who need a little legal literary help. They also offer small, online newsletters that focus on personal injury, family law and products liability. Each newsletter has five smallish articles and doesn’t appear to be updated frequently.

The website also has a resource page with a long list of links under different categories. The resource links are interestingly varied from Weight Watchers International and the American College of Rheumatology to links on VIOXX® and Fen-Phen.

Eric of the misty mountains

Ericofthemistybluemountains.com is a mother’s tribute to her son, Eric Baker, who passed away in 1996 at the age of 23. The site has many pages about Eric and his accomplishments and life, as well his obituary, his mother’s grief journal, family members journals and written tributes, to poetry written in remembrance.

Many pages evoke a sense of emotion and sorrow in me as I connected with the pain and stories shared, and then just as simply a page on jokes and riddles would make me snicker and laugh at the humor that is used to portray the family’s love of life.

While the layout of the site is a little confusing, there are many pages to explore about Eric and a plethora of other topics, from a spiritual index of prayers and obituaries, to riddles, frog jokes, artwork and information on
anti-abortion.

Be warned, the site does have music that plays upon visiting and has many broken links, but it is also a good place for families who have lost a child to connect with a family that has shared their grief and loss and are dealing with it through self expression.
