More Disability Resources

I'm not sure who created "Tonys get a job"; however, the site is really a simple and useful resource site divided into categories, including "military services", "woman's resources", "minority resources", and "government jobs". Included also, of course, is the category of "disability resources", found at this page: Tonys get a job - Disability Resources.

This site may be valaw.org or a mirror for the site. It is intended primarily for veterans, either active duty military personnel or individuals who have served and separated from service, or retired. The links page is of particular interest since it includes veterans organizations, veterans news sites, disability sites, and links to attorneys who assist vets. The page can be found here: Veterans and Disability Resources.

The University Hospitals of Cleveland site has a page that lists private and government resources. They list the well-known secrets site in addition to their listing of the federal government's social security administration website. This social security page can be found here: Social Security and Disability information

The Access Utah Network has a disability links page (Advocacy and Disability Resources) that lists the following types of resources: Advocacy, ADA (the Americans with disabilities act), Assistive Technology, Education, Employment, local and national government, health, health, housing, and independent living.

Analytic Rehab

Analytic Rehab is located in Mentone California. Analytic Rehabilitation is, according to its website, a company that specializes in vocational counseling and rehab counseling. Part of what the company does seems to involve the creation of reports that may be used in various types of injury cases, such as medical malpractice and personal injury. I would assume that reports are also generated for workers compensation claims, and perhaps also long term disability and possibly even social security disability claims. One aspect of the reports that are compiled by this company is the formulation of wage loss analysis, basically a way to investigate the potential future lost income of an individual who has been impaired by an injury.

Services such as those provided by this company may be invaluable, particularly since the information contained in the reports generated by it probably go a long way toward substantiating the seriousness of an individual's injuries and the effect such injuries have on their remaining lifetime potential for earnings. In other words, the products offered by this company and others like it allow injured individuals to more successfully pursue their claims against insurers who all too often attempt to underrate the significance of a claim in order to avoid payouts.

Analytic Rehab also provides a useful resource page that provides a well developed list of disability related websites and resources. The page also includes a good list of assistive technology sites, veterans sites, and independent living sites as well.

Avery Barber, MEd, LPC

Avery Barber is a a North Carolina Board Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and maintains a website that provides an informational conduit for his practice. Various pages of the site inform interested and prospective clients about Mr. Avery's professional background and provide information on the types of professional treatment services offered by his practice. His site also provides information about counseling approaches, the rights of clients who are engaged in counseling, and a list of in-state support groups for individuals in treatment for alcohol and drug abuse. Lastly, the resource link page provided by the site is quite extensive and offers a wide range of helpful resources for individuals including fact sheets, links to articls, and health and disability resources.

ARC Link

The ARC link is a site that (according to information posted on the site itself) is made possible through underwriting from AT&T. The site has a page devoted to various disability related resources and health related resources. Featured prominently on the site are two services, namely the "national find family registry" and a roommate finder service. The registry, and its very concept, I find compelling. Its apparent purpose is to facilitate reconnecting families with disabled family members who, in past years were either institutionalized or fell out of touch due to divorce, fostercare, adoption, or other extenuating circumstance.

Disability Claim Information

Disability Claim Information seems (so far, at least) to be a one-page website that offers links to various veterans disability and social security disability internet resources. As far as I can tell, the first and last post page for this site occurred on 10/28/07. Of course, this was only a few short days ago, so it may be possible that this site will expand in the future. Or it may also be that this is only intended as a one-off resource page for a targeted group of users such as individuals of a help or support group. At the moment, it is impossible to tell what the eventual purpose of this website is, or it what it may develop into. However, it does have a good layout and, so far, has published information that may be helpful to users, at least from a resource link perpsective.

Shining my Light for him

Shining my light for him seems for the most part to be a resource page of various related links that may be of interest to individuals with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, or chronic pain. There are, naturally, links to a number of fibromyalgia sites as well as disability related sites. However, a visitor to this website will also find youtube clips and, most importantly, links to pages written by the site's author that describe the symptoms of fibromyalgia and the medications that are available for use. These pages may be of particular interest to individuals with FMS as they detail the author's personal experience and history of fibromyalgia as well as various alternative medicine treatments that have been attempted.

A legal resource page

This is a link resource page for a site called Transgendered Soul, which is essentially a support group that meets in the San Bernadino and Riverside California areas. The legal links page includes links to advocacy groups, attorney resource lists, and, of course, various disability benefit information sites which may offer raw information on the disability process and/or assistance in obtaining representation for an SSD or SSI case.
