WILL DISABILITY GO UP AT RETIREMENT AGE?

Will my Social Security Disability Benefits go up when I reach retirement age?

I've come across this question quite a number of times and recently encountered it again in a forum so I thought I would address it. The answer to the question is no. Individuals who receive social security benefits based on disability status will not see an increase in their monthly benefit amount at retirement age. They will simply convert from disability status to retirement status.

In fact, once an individual begins to receive social security, based on retirement or disability, the only alterations they will see to their benefit amount will come in the form of annual cost of living adjustments, or COLAs.
